Virtual wellness consults and in-person pediatric physical therapy in Colorado, USA

Our Physical Therapy Approach

Sol Shine is a pediatric physical therapy practice located in Lafayette, Colorado, that combines innovative therapies and more than 15 years of experience working with children. We believe that each child has unique talents, strengths, and challenges, and a diagnosis does not define them. We offer wellness consults and therapeutic services in the United States and around the world. We are available to see you online or in person.

Pediatric Physical Therapy

Infant physical therapy can benefit your baby if they have been in the NICU or are premature. In general, the focus of physical therapy for your baby is to promote functional mobility and the acquisition of gross motor skills. Other reasons why your baby could benefit from infant physical therapy are torticollis, plagiocephaly, and gross motor delays. When your child has any of these diagnoses, the earlier that physical therapy can get started the better! Book a consult today for information on in-person pediatric physical therapy services in our Colorado location or our online virtual wellness consults.

Physical Therapy Evaluation for Babies

We help babies with torticollis, assisting them to reach milestones

We can treat your baby with torticollis at our Colorado physical therapy office or online in tele-health sessions. We love empowering parents with exercises and resources for their baby as well.

Providing Innovative Therapies, and Intensive Physical Therapy Programs

In physical therapy, we use exercises and tools that provoke postural reactions to improve strength, balance skills, and movement patterns that will help your child to feel more confident, to participate in activities of daily life, and to develop more independence. We also use tools such as electrical stimulation, whole vibration therapy and Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI).

Pediatric Physical Therapy for kids with spina bifida using electrical stimulation

Electrical Stimulation for Babies and Kids with Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Other Neurological Conditions

Electrical stimulation uses different types of current to stimulate the sensory nerves and to activate the muscles depending where the electrodes are placed. Some of the benefits of using e-stim are increased local circulation, improvement in sensation and muscle strength, improved mobility in the joints, and in some cases, changes in bladder and bowel function.

Lorena Vargas of Sol Shine Physical Therapy, which specializes in pediatric PT for babies, torticollis, cerebral palsy and more.

Meet Lorena Vargas, PT

“Lorena was an exceptional and caring PT for our daughter from 3 months to 2 years old to treat torticollis and low muscle tone.

As parents, PT sessions are an opportunity to learn how we can help our daughter throughout the week. Lorena clearly explained the “what” and the “why” which was so helpful for our understanding.

Our daughter’s torticollis is no longer an issue and she has become strong and confident thanks to Lorena’s dedication and professional help.

Any child would be lucky to have her as a therapist!.”
